Venus is the planet that helps us understand ourselves and others best. Combined with the depth of Scorpio, Venus in Scorpio can really truly understand the essential nature of who a person is deep down, well below the surface. Venus in Scorpio is the culimnation of the creative pursuits by Kristen O'Donnell, a Brooklyn-based digital creative and strategist. The brand is a love letter to my deep interest and almost obsessive pursuit of art and design. Since 2016, I've worked professionally in the digital advertising and media space, creating award-winning campaigns for brands like Microsoft, Target, and L'Oreal.
My most recent experience was at Spotify, focusing on product features for creators, strategizing and implemening innovative features to core products. In addition to my profession around tech innovation + strategy, I've worked on a variety of freelance design projects. I'm a self-taught designer, meaning that I am willing to experiment and test the boundaries of what's possible.
My end goal is to make the world more beautiful in the only way I know how: art and design. I'm versed in a variety of mediums, including web, but have a longstanding background working on physical pieces, mainly with acrylics. During my time at University, I studied Interactive Media which provided me with a foundation for web and front-end design. My style is a mix of elegance and chaos, though I am keen on adapting my individual style to fit your brand's specific needs.

01.Spotify Live
Spotify Live is a tool that allows creators to go ‘live’ and broadcast to fans. To grow MAU for Live content, we sought to integrate the listening experience from the standalone Live app into the main client, scaling the content experience to our existing user base and eliminating the friction of needing to install a separate app to listen.
We hypothesized previously that we would likely need to integrate parts of the live app into our main app if we wanted to scale, now having more clear understanding of what that integration would look like. The prototypes we aligned on for testing included [1] entry points [2] live room pages [3] notifications
We had a soft launch with the MVP product to stress test the functionality of live listening in the main app, get a baseline measurement of the funnel, and inform the product in the future phases. In parallel to launch, we also prepared for future iterations

Put it in my Mouth podcast came to me with their vision - a woman fronted podcast with a very irreverent take on the food industry
03.Microsoft Surface
This project involved creating interactive video ads, which were run across various streaming platforms including Hulu, FX Now, and FOX Now.
Custom footage was shot for both the linear TV spot and the engagement unit The unit was a ’choose your own adventure’, giving users the option to choose how Scorsese reacts. Like the linear execution, this was locked into pod A of the same break for every stream.

05.Mantle Skincare
Mantle is a skincare company that combines CBD with other natural, plant-based ingredients.
This project included creating logos, brand + style guides, promotional product materials, and packaging for their collection of serums, cleaners, moisturizers, and other facial treatments. The goal was to reflect the everyday luxury and empowerment that the brand provides.
